Job Description

FFF Academy NYC is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable  Goalkeeper Coach  to lead the technical, tactical, and personal development of our youth goalkeepers across all age groups. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in playing and/or coaching goalkeepers, a passion for youth development, and the ability to foster a positive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver goalkeeper-specific training sessions focusing on technical skills (diving, handling, shot-stopping), tactical awareness (positioning, communication), and mental resilience for all youth goalkeepers 12 .
  • Analyze performance through observation and video review, providing tailored feedback to support individual growth 1 .
  • Collaborate with team coaches to ensure goalkeeper training aligns with team strategies and objectives 1 .
  • Monitor and report on player progress , maintaining accurate records and contributing to player reviews and development plans
  • Promote a safe, inclusive, and encouraging environment that supports both athletic and personal development .
  • Attend all scheduled training sessions, matches, and tournaments as required.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development , including coaching workshops and certifications 12 .
  • Communicate effectively with players, parents, and staff, representing the club’s values at all times 45 .

Requirements

  • Experience as a goalkeeper (playing and/or coaching), preferably within a youth development environment
  • Relevant coaching qualifications (USSF D License or higher, or international equivalent; Goalkeeper-specific certification preferred)
  • Strong understanding of technical and tactical aspects of the goalkeeper position
  • Demonstrated ability to work with youth players and adapt coaching methods to different ages and skill levels
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child protection standards ; must pass background checks and complete required training
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends in line with the club’s schedule

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience coaching in an academy or elite youth environment .
  • UEFA/USSF B License or higher, or equivalent international certification
  • First Aid and CPR certification
